welcome to covenant house
Peace be with you! We are an open, affirming, and welcoming campus ministry at the University of Washington. We welcome students of all denominations, of all backgrounds, of all ethnicities, of all colors, of all sexualities - we invite everyone to be a part of challenging our faith and drawing closer to God. Our words and worship draw from the most ancient hearts of Christianity, while at the same time they are renewed by our modern minds. Church should not be a place where you leave your questions at the door - bring your doubts, your fears, your hopes, your joys - bring everything God has made you to be. You are welcome here.

be engagedupdates from Rachel
John 1:38-39
When Jesus turned and saw them following, he said to them, "What are you looking for?"
They said to him, "Rabbi" (which translated here means Teacher), "where are you staying?"
He said to them, "Come and see."

coming up this week

Wednesday May 14
Alchemist's Guild 11-1
Lunch and discussion about the intersection of Faith and Science. Always interesting, always refreshing, and always a great lunch provided. Come and be a part of the discussion. Guest speaker will be Dr. Jim Green from the UW Department of Anthropology, who will share some of his recent work on human conceptions of death and life.

Wednesday May 14
Worship for Students 6:00
Worship especially for students -- short, to-the-point, come as you are, always a great home-cooked meal afterwards! This week we'll worship using an Episcopal worship service. Let this be a beautiful, peaceful point in your week. Great homecooked dinner served afterwards. Bring a friend or several friends! You are always welcome here!

Wednesday May 14
Bible Study 7:00
Bible study every Wednesday after worship and dinner at 7:00 p.m. We will be studying the Gospel of Luke. All students are welcome, all questions are welcome! This is a complete study each week -- don't worry if you can't make every week. (We're looking at Luke 5 this week).

COMING UP:

Sunday May 18
Service Project - cook and serve dinner at Tent City, St. Mark's Cathedral 3:00
While Tent City is at St. Mark's Cathedral on Capital Hill, we have signed up to make and serve a meal for the residents. Join us on Sunday at St. Mark's at 3:00 pm! Service projects are a great way to live out your faith in a concrete manner, and a great way to get to know some other students!

Tuesday May 27
Barbecue! 5-7
Students! As the Quarter begins to draw to a close, take a study break and join us for grilled burgers, hot dogs, veggie burgers, veggie dogs, coleslaw, and hot fudge sundaes. Bring a friend and enjoy some time in our courtyard!
