Alchemist's Guild
May 14, 2008 11:00 a.m. -1:00 p.m.
The Alchemists Guild was created to further discussion about the experience of science and religion in today's culture. Anyone interested in this issue is welcome to come join us for lunch. The Guild exists to address how people of faith deal with science as insight, spiritual practice, and vocation. Guest speaker this month will be Dr. Jim Green, from the UW Anthropology Department, who will share some of his recent work on human conceptions of death and life.
Moderator: Rev. Dr. Lucas Mix
Lucas Mix has a PhD in Evolutionary Biology from Harvard (2004). He received an MDiv from the Church Divinity School of the Pacific (2007) and is a priest in the Episcopal Church. His areas of expertise are photosynthesis, astrobiology, and the science/religion dialogue. In addition to Alchemists Guild, Lucas works as a minister at the Church of the Apostles in Fremont and as a science/religion educator in the broader church.
Hosted by Crossroads Lutheran Episcopal Campus Ministry and Church of the Apostles.

Mariner's Game
Saturday, May 31, 2008 12:55 p.m.
Let's go help the Mariner's get a win on May 31. It's the Mariners Salute to Latin American Beisbol Day, where the first 20,000 fans through the gates will receive a Marineros cap, the Mariners will honor the many great contributions that Latin Americans have made in baseball, and the Mariners will wear special "Marineros" uniforms during the game. Interested in putting together a Crossroads Campus Ministry section? Let Pastor Scott know very soon if you'd like to go. Lutheran/Crossroads is helping with tickets, so your cost would only be$10/ticket!
