Social Justice
O God, friend of the poor, what we see here tonight are people in fine clothes who live in opulent shelter. What we intend is to spread the cloth and materials around to the shivering millions. What we taste here tonight are fine foods and drinks. What we intend is to enable warring millions to eat in peace. What is heard here tonight are fine speeches and fancy words. What we inted is to act in justice with peoples of varied colors, different sexes, varied wealth and different ages. O Spirit of God in Christ, give us your freeing voice. Give us a taste of your peace. Give us your vision of a hopeful future. Amen.

Prayers from Worship Nov 30, 2011
For the peace of the world, the care for all your Church and the unity of all people:
let us pray to the Lord.
For this nation and our government, the leaders of the world, and all in authority.
May they always serve the greater good:
let us pray to the Lord.
For those who are oppressed, or destitute, or hungry, and for those who are unemployed:
let us pray to the Lord.
For those whom we love, at home or far away, neighbors and friends and colleagues at school
and work, all those whose lives are closely linked with ours:
let us pray to the Lord.
We pray for all of the concerns written in our prayer journal by the prayer shrine. I invite our
own prayers and thanksgivings both silently in our heart and aloud in this community.
We pray for all who have died. Keep us with them in communion with Christ our risen Lord,
and bring us at the last with all your saints.
We put our whole trust and confidence in your loving purpose for the world. Strengthen us by
your Spirit to serve you with a willing heart and a cheerful spirit;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.
for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you."
