Ending the Academic Year
O God, source of all that we have and have become, as this year comes to an end, we stand at time's door, preparing to enter more deeply into the life that you have given us to live. Guard yesterday as the source of precious and profound memories. Fill our hearts today wtih joy as you bring us to the close of our time in this place. Bless our tomorrows and let them be times of new beginnings, filled with signs of hope and opportunity. Continue to lead us with your vision and unite us as your people. Send us forth more boldly to run the race set before us. Empower us in our witness and strengthen us in our serving. We go now in Christ's name. Amen.

Prayers of the People June 2, 2010
Gathered together as God's people in Christ Jesus, let us pray for the church, those in need, and all of God's creation.
Holy, eternal God, you have created humankind in your image. Fill the people of your Church with your Spirit and lead us to live as witnesses of your grace and mercy. Lord in your mercy,
hear our prayer
You bring peace in the midst of chaos. Guard all people whose livelihood depends on calm waters and an abundant sea. Shelter all people and animals who endure devastating storms. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer
You are our strength and stronghold. Uphold all people who serve in areas of conflict and crisis. Deliver hope to men, women, and children whose lives are disrupted by war. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer
You give us wholeness through Jesus Christ, your anointed one. Make his restoring presence known to all who suffer illness or brokenness of any kind. Turn their suffering into hope. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer
You make our joy complete in times of celebration. Bring joy to the milestones marked in this community, and send us from this place with your blessing.
Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer
For what else do the people of God pray tonight, both silently in our hearts and aloud in the community........ Gracious God, you know our hearts better than we ourselves. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer
Into your hands, gracious God, we commend all for whom we pray, trusting in your mercy; through Jesus Christ, our Savior.
Amen.
for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you."
